Oddballs, perfume, curse of the mousse

Ape puts on perfume and smells like one of those sunshiny, flowery, fairytale spring mornings, where clean isn’t simply a description, but a 4-dimensional cartoon, which you can smell.

Lolly puts on perfume and smells like the oriental mistress, whose comforting touch and libido is woven of silky embraces of musk and oranges and obscure passion.

tiny puts on perfume and smells of inexplicable and unearthly perfection and something supposedly ephemeral, for no matter how much you smell her you can never fully grasp its complexity.

And me, I put on perfume, which as it hits my skin reacts, evolves and smells of something sticky, unbearable and ill-boding. Almost like the way you might detect an assertive-smelling smell, not knowing what it is and wonder whether it smells good or bad before you realize it’s rottening garbage you smell. Or zombies. That’s me using perfume. Any perfume.

Life - the perpetual nap. + Alive 31/5-09

The sky is clear blue. The sun is bright. The warmth is heat.

And all I do is nap and read. I have no energy, no energy at all. I'm a lazy fat cat lapping up the sun. No work, no studying, no nothing. And the best thing, even my mind is a nothing. It is fucking brilliant.

How about you? You alive?

And this week's vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Tu0PAbW75A
And this week's song: Dolly Parton – Working Girl

Amazing grace, cookies on sale.

I go around praising nature, but am really complimenting man’s domination of it. Flowery pasture fields, neat bushes along the road, planted trees and newly mowed lawns. I choose to see harmony before subordination, and I take pleasure in it. For that I feel cheap. Then I go around disliking people for what they are, while wondering whether it wouldn’t be better to pity us for what we can never be. For that I am confused. Then I go around dreaming of all the things I want to be, until I clash with the things I most likely will become, or already am.

Neat bushes along the road. And I still see harmony.

Alive?

well, i'm alive and kicking, and i've learned two new things this week...

1. every body part on the left side of my body is larger than corresponding body part on my right side. my hand, my boob, my thigh, my foot. i know it's common and i've always had my suspicions, but now that it's confirmed i just feel like i've been wronged. wronged! also, the skoskav resulting from having same-sized shoes for different-sized feet may have something to do with my anger.

2. blenders, like people, have good days and bad days.

anyone else learn something new?

I really like how Ape works, gets money and buys me candy. I do not only like it, in fact I love it. It is an arrangement possibly descended from heaven. I wish the world would always look like this. And yes, this has partly to do with the fact that she got bruised from cleaning the sperm bank while making said money.

Sometimes, life makes so much sense it hurts.

Harold Pinter OK'd it.

And all our dead and all their dead friends know
We have no gifts for lying low,
No gift at all for doing so.
The test they set you will not go.
It is the legacy that they bestow,
The failing of the doing so.

The Replacement

As I was walking home from a friend tonight I started thinking about it. It's a 10 minute walk which is mainly through a living area with houses all over the place. Tonight I paid attention to the rooms that were lit and out of the two houses in which I could spot people, in both of them someone was in front of a computer screen. As I got back home the first thing I did (before I took off my shoes even) was to turn on my laptop.

What does this mean?

Other than that computers and internet access are taken for granted and takes up a lot of people's time. I was just wondering what it is a replacement for. What did people do before us? What was the time spent online used for instead? Are we gaining or losing something from the growth of internet and our reliance on it?

What has the Internet replaced in our lives and what will ultimately be the consequences of this?

Rest in peace, oh mighty Lord Freelance...

This is what morning brought me - disaster, before I even got a first sip of my morning tea. Two birds, one as dead as a very soft rock, and one mourning and dumbstruck, just outside the glass walls of my balcony. I ate my breakfast ponderously, wondering why I had to begin my day with death.

Unfair or not, I had to do the right thing. I took a deep breath and went out to the winged and shattered couple on the balcony, swiftly knighted the dead one as Lord Freelance of Many Skies and gave his presumably faithful dame the name of Lady Trueheart. Before I took the body away from Lady Trueheart with my plastic bag-covered hand, I promised her that her man would be well taken care of. I dug a grave, six birdfeet down, with my spade, and put the Lordling in it. I found a pretty rock and a pink rose and the funeral was concluded.

My only problem now was the lonely birdgirl (or was the lady a boy?) who still had not moved and possibly suffered from internal bleeding or some obscure mental illness (aren't they all?). I decided that what she needed was to get away from the unfortunate spot which she, for some reason (possibly out of shock) had chosen to contaminate with loads of poop. I put her in an apple tree not too far away and left her there with her lax body and panic-stricken eyes. Planning for a new life, far away from glass balconies, or dying, only to join Lord Freelance, I don't know.

You might find me crude and inhuman for documenting this tragedy. But for their deeds they shall be remembered, as I would have wanted, had I gone through what they have.

So fly freely, Lord Freelance and cry dryly Lady Trueheart, for life is unfair and you never know when you will hit that window that will break your neck.

Edit: I know that you don't exactly knight someone into a Lord. But it was birds! It's a whole other world, them birds. I mean, they fly! Plus, I really like the verb. To knight someone.
