The Great Re-Watch

I'm self-pimpin' my geekiness.

As the unemployed bum I am at the moment I felt I needed to sink my teeth into a proper project and be at least a little faux-productive. Therefore I decided to re-watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Xena: Warrior Princess, simultaneously. While doing so I will be writing reviews for each episode and once I'm finished try to make a comparison between the two. This will be somewhere around 250 episode reviews so I decided to make it into its own blog.

Because of the recent death of Estelle Getty I decided to watch a few episodes of The Golden Girls. I ended up being a little shocked. It's like a strange mixture of proper American preaching of Political Correctness while being really caustic. Dealing with issues such as teen pregnancy, abuse, death etcetera. At the same time I've never seen an episode of anything (seriously) where they use slut more times than in this. There's like a minimum of 5 sluts per episode, and most of them are said by Sophia (Estelle Getty's character). There's something rather fascinating with watching an "80 year old" put people down and call them slut all over the place.

So this week in order to celebrate the word slut and honour the memory of Estelle Getty.

Fortsatt sommar.

Igår hade jag och Lolly en mycket mysig minnesstund där vi rullade i nostalgia. Och speciellet kassettbands-nostalgi. Idag är mestadels av musiken vi lyssnar på i dataform, ipods, online radio, youtube etc. Innan dess var det cd-skivor. Men inga av dessa musik fenomen är lika älskvärt som KassettBandet var.

Kassettbandet var en älskad och vördnad ägodel. Det var en skatt som nästinintil var en smula små helig.

Idag tar vi musiken för givet. Då var musiken fantastisk.

Så till ära av kassettbandet och bilsemestern (det var där musiken förbrukades mest intensivt) bjuder jag denna vecka på ytterligare en sommarhit.

Summer Night

I don't have that much to say. Other than that you will now refer to me as Archaeologist. I have the certificate to prove I am indeed worthy of that title.

I also spent some much needed time with my sweet dear family. It's good to laugh because of embarrassing moments.

And even though I am stuck all by myself in little Leicester without anyone around, is no reason for the rest of you not to enjoy the crazy summer nights. Therefore go out into the world with Gunther's sweet music filling your heads and do all those No-No things.
